00PM This person has responsibility for taking care of Covenant's customers by answering the phone in a friendly and helpful manner or by being on the floor delivering trays and helping the patient with meal decisions.
This position has a broad range of duties including assuring that the computer equipment (CBORD and the printers) are operating properly in order to make sound judgment calls in the occasional absence of the Dietitian, Diet Technician, Expediter, Coordinator, Manager or Director.
This position will handle assigned duties as given by the Director, Manager, and Coordinator.
The Hospitality Ambassador demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Effectively operate the communication equipment (headsets, phone, computer) including CBORD and EPIC.
Process floor stock, nourishments, diet orders, tray tickets and tallies Must be available and dependable for flexible scheduling of work hours, weekends and holidays.
Effectively use food service safety and know the foods allowed on various diets used in the hospital setting, including but not solely limited to heart, diabetic, soft, Dysphagia advanced, low fat, low salt, low fiber and renal.
Achieves high standards of Sanitation and an organized and safe work environment by following HACCP guidelines to include food temperature records maintenance Understand and take accountability for customer service as measured by Press Ganey and other such surveys.
Assist the department in attaining high Press Ganey scores with ideas and motivation based on Covenant values.
Assist patients with all aspects of meal service, including explanation of Room Service, special diet, ordering and meal selections, assisting patients with their meal choices and meal service in a friendly and positive manner.
Understand and take accountability for customer service as measured by Press Ganey and other such surveys.
Effectively communicate within the department and with patient service unit staff, patients and guests regarding any patient need.
Work effectively with minimal supervision and take initiative in problem-solving.
Assist other employees when needed, and perform other duties as required.
Complete assigned workload satisfactorily and be responsible/accountable for assigned duties.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Minimum:
High School Diploma.
Prefer:
Service experience and diet knowledge KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Must pass diet competency test with 90% pass rate in order to maintain position as Hospitality Ambassador.
Ongoing assessment of competency will occur at least annually.
Knowledge of universal precautions Excellent phone and computer skills.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Consistently demonstrate initiative in area organization and policies.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently without supervision WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to maintain punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
