Overview: Responsible for the oversight of both the Mechanical and Controls Engineering departments, working to and meeting project schedules (deadlines), communicating with other departments, and providing assistance and support. Also communicates with and assists customers as needed.
Specific Duties : Management & Supervision of department. Assess feasibility of new RFQs/proposals. Attend Kick-Off and Design Review meetings. Assign engineers to projects (and service) and monitor progress. Provide resources and training as needed. Review and monitor costs to stay within budget.
Accountabilities: Accountable for the effective performance of department employees. Accountable for establishing and meeting budgets in terms or cost and timing.
Authority: May make acquisitions and acquire resources as needed in harmony with strategic business plan and departmental goals, including staffing of the department.
Education: Bachelors degree (mechanical engineering preferred)
Skills: Exceptional organizational and management skills. Industry knowledge relative to core business. Good motivational and communication skills.
Experience: Ten (10) years in engineering (relative to machine tool industry).
Personal Qualities: Exceptional ability to work with others. Good communicator. Able to multi-task.
Preferences: Degree in Mechanical and Controls Engineering.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
